Bindaree Outdoor Education Services (BOES) recruits only skilled, qualified and experienced staff from across Australia and overseas. Our current staffing pool includes a dozen full-time field staff and more than 110 casual employees. We are always on the lookout for versatile, enthusiastic and knowledgeable professionals to join our team on a casual basis. Bindaree hires casual employees for three main areas of the business; Bindaree Outdoor Education (BOE), Camp Toolangi, and our Bayswater factory. | Induction and staff days | As part of our commitment to excellence, the company holds regular new and returning staff inductions each semester. All new staff are required to attend a week-long induction, generally held in early February each year. Returning staff inductions are also held twice-yearly, to ensure all staff are up-to-date on improvements and changes across all areas of the business. |
| Internal Development opportunities | We also run regular Bindaree Activity Leader Verification’s (BALVs), which are days where the skills of prospective specialist staff are verified in the field by senior activity specialist staff member. Completion of BALVs is required before new staff can run specialist activities for clients including rafting, canoeing, climbing, biking, survival and caving. All staff are welcome to attend BALVs, either to be assessed or for more experience if it is not a current skillset. |
| Externally recognised courses | Bindaree Outdoor Education has strong ties to external training organisations and periodically is involved in facilitating access to courses such as Wilderness First Aid, Canoe Instructor, Swift Water Rescue and more. |
| Supporting ones personal development | Finally, as a collection of adventurous people, there are always staff members looking to organise social trips to a huge variety of locations and for many different activities. Bindaree Outdoor Education always aims to assist where possible by providing gear loan options to staff. |
Bindaree Outdoor Education believes in supporting the industry’s future. We offer placements which give real Outdoor Education experiences.
Placements are unpaid. However, transport, accommodation and catering are included.
Placement students are never responsible for the supervision of clients, and will always be accompanied by one of our experienced field staff members, to ensure they have a positive and educational placement experience.
All placement students must hold a valid Working With Children Check.

Bindaree offers a paid internship program, which offers an excellent pathway to complete your studies whilst working in the outdoor education industry.
Both Certificate IV and Diploma level courses are offered. The position is based at our Bayswater factory where the majority our programs start from. The course is run in conjunction with Wodonga TAFE, and several other major industry organisations also contribute students to the course.
These courses prepare you for a career as an outdoor guide, with students able to learn the skills to become world-class guides in a variety of different activity skill sets.
Bindaree Outdoor Education advertises annually around November for applications to the January intake.

| Assistant Group Leader (AGL) | For most graduates into the industry, the AGL role allows them to build experience in more-controlled environments whilst working alongside some of our most senior staff to manage groups. |
| Group Leader (GL) | These staff are at the forefront of all Bindaree programs. GLs work directly with students and client staff to facilitate a safe and enjoyable camp experience for all participants. There are a number of GL positions from graduate to challenging remote expedition-level roles. |
| Specialist Activity Leader (SAL) | BOE runs many activities which require additional staff to meet ratios and a higher level of skill and experience in order to deliver outstanding sessions to clients. We require experienced field operators in a range of areas including; rock climbing, abseiling, rafting, mountain biking, white water canoeing and caving. |
