Fixed Term Full Time Program Manger

About the Opportunity 

The senior position of Program Manager is both operational and strategic. You will directly liaise with and oversee clients to ensure their upcoming programs meet their needs and are extremely successful. 

This position has a diverse range of responsibilities including:  

  • Delivering outstanding customer service to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Coordinating and Managing client programs.
  • Maintaining client documentation and records.
  • Managing successful journey-based camp programs.
  • Leading teams and overseeing all program logistics, activities and catering as well as overseeing program rationale, safety and the total wellbeing of all client participants.
  • Undertake field-roles on a range of allocated programs to achieve programming outcomes .
  • Undertake office-based program planning, management, and assessment .
  • Assisting with staff training and mentoring.
  • Assisting with compliance and risk management.

What you'll need to succeed 

To be successful in this position, it is essential that you have:

  • A passion for outdoor education and providing outstanding customer experiences.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to create strong relationships with staff and clients  .
  • Proven leadership/management experience, including the ability to multitask and look bigger picture .
  • Strong sense of initiative and capacity to work with minimal guidance and supervision.
  • Able to maintain thorough attention to detail while working under pressure.
  • Experience in managing field-based programs and teams.
  • A proven record in activity and program safety, remote area first aid, emergency responses and risk management.
  • Program planning and management experience.
  • A solutions-based mindset.
  • Exceptional written communication and presentation skills.

Applicants must hold a minimum of or be prepared to acquire:

  • Valid Working with Children Check.
  • Wilderness First Aid Qualification.
  • CPR Qualification.
  • National Police Check.
  • Current Drivers License.
  • Completed Cert IV or higher in Outdoor Recreation or equivalent years of industry experience.

Remuneration: $74,000 per annum pro rata based on EA level +superannuation + leave conditions.

Contract: Fixed Term Full time 1 year contract with potential to extend contract length.

    Demonstrate your experience and qualifications in thewidest range of outdoor based activity skills and activity leadership.
  • First Aid and Emergency Response
    Demonstrate your qualifications and experience inremote area first aid and your experience in relation to the high-qualityemergency response systems.
  • Program Management and Leadership
    Demonstrate your experience in the areas of program management, planning and leadership.
    Demonstrate your experience and qualifications in the area of managing individuals, staff teams and departments in an outdoor and/or business context.
  • Self-Management
    Demonstrateyour ability to manage your own time, task schedule, emails and workloads.
  • Knowledge of Regional Program and Activity Areas
    Demonstrate your knowledge and work in the widest range of regional program and activity areas.

Casual & Contract Outdoor Educators

We have a large range of programs that offer leaders opportunities to partake in activities such as bushwalking, mountain biking, canoeing, whitewater rafting, rock climbing and more.

  • Challenge groups to work together to achieve desired outcomes
  • Educate students to apply skills learnt on program to their everyday life

Applicants must hold a minimum of or be prepared to acquire:

  • Valid Working with Children Check
  • Remote Area First Aid or WIlderness First Aid Qualification
  • Up-to-date CPR Qualification
  • National Police Check
  • Current Driver Licence
  • Completed Cert IV in Outdoor Recreation or higher

Experience:

  • Working with young people
  • Leading outdoor education programs
  • Logged experienced in specialised activities

Desired Qualifications:

  • Specialists qualifications: Climbing, Abseiling, Biking or Rafting
  • Bus Driver Licence (LR or MR)

2024 - Traineeships

Our Camp Toolangi based traineeship could be for you. Starting in January 2024 this 12-month position will get your qualification in outdoor education and hands on experience in the outdoor education field.
